London: Self Build Project for 10 Houses - 1 of 2

Project for 10 self build houses on the site of an old railway cutting in Hornsey.

The self builders will construct their own houses using simple eco-friendly methods that allow those with no previous building experience to take part. The houses will have space heating bills of less than £50 / annum, and are designed using a glu-lam based timber post and beam structure, to allow them to make best use of the sloping site - see next page for site elevations and sections. Planning permission has been applied for.

This project is being undertaken by Architype in partnership with The Walter Segal Self Build Trust, with Forever Green Projects Ltd as project architects
